Since 2000, PreciseGlass has provided quality glass and metal products for all types of architectural applications. We design, fabricate, and install curtainwall, entrances, storefronts, and windows for a wide variety of buildings and homes.
Our History
1954 – Real Glass Company
PreciseGlass traces its history to 1954, when James Distefano Sr. opened Real Glass Company in Newburgh, NY. With his wife Millie managing the office and one assistant glazier, Jim provided glass and metal work to businesses and homes throughout the Hudson Valley.
Real Glass became known in the local construction community for quality work, friendly service, and fair pricing. The company provided window repairs, shower enclosures, storefronts, and mirrors.
1970s – Family Business
During the 1970s, Jim’s two sons, George and James Jr., began working part time in the family business. They learned fabrication, installation, bookkeeping, and estimating. This early experience helped grow the business.
1976 – Full-Time Leadership
Upon graduating from Marist College in 1976, George began working full time.
2000 – PreciseGlass
In 2000, George founded PreciseGlass at the Newburgh, NY facility, continuing the family tradition of architectural glazing.
Today
Today, PreciseGlass has two locations throughout the Hudson Valley and over twenty employees. We are one of the area’s leading glazing contractors and retail glass businesses. We continue to focus on delivering high-quality products and workmanship at competitive prices.
